Still not eating turkey, but I will be trotting again for a great cause!
As many of you know, the homeless population is a community I feel strongly about helping. For the second year in a row, I will be particpating in Father Joe's Villages 17th Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K.
What you might not know is San Diego has the 4th largest homeless population in the country, a total of over 9,000 homeless includes men, women, children, and Veterans.
I am sure many of you will be celebrating what you are thankful in your own lives, so I am asking if you can, help support those who do not have as much.
The proceeds will help Father Joe's Villages provide and serve close to #1MillionMeals in 2019 to our homeless neighbors in need. Father Joe's Villages is a one-stop-shop for getting people off the streets as they provide hope, medical treatment, therapeutic childcare, employment education and training, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and housing to those in need.
Any amount you can pledge is most appreciated. As an alterantive to donation, I encourage you to smile and just say hello if you see someone who might be in need of a little humanity. As simple as it sounds, a smile goes a long way!
